An update from the band mascot
Kampfire
Kowboys have been very busy lately recording their upcoming CD entitled Stand
Still. I'll give ya one quick guess who's on the cover. If you
haven't figured it out by now, you will find out soon enough. :)
The new CD is just about to be released. Already the band has logged their
first interview with Eric Shelkopf from The Kane County Chronicle. So, look for their first article around
the beginning of March 2000. (Thanks Eric!!)
The Official CD release party will be held at 602
North in Glendale Heights, IL, on Saturday, March 11, 2000. The opening act is Saldo Creek from St.
Charles and Kampfire Kowboys will perform shortly after, playin' cuts from
their latest & previous CD. It should be a great show. Hope to see ya
there!
Remember the band Heartsfield? Well, guess what? Kampfire Kowboys will be
opening for them on Saturday,
February 26, at 9 p.m. at Rory's Music Cafe located
in Addison, IL.
Word is, Heartsfield is re-releasing their earlier records on CD and is
promoting all over town. Heartsfield and Kampfire Kowboys playin' together
is a show made in heaven.

It’s
been a very busy year for the band! The guys have perfected their sound and
been selling their new CD of songs written by Tom. They have been well
received performing around the Chicago area at places like Elbo Room,
Rory's Music Cafe, Abbey Pub, and Durty Nellie’s, just to name a few.
For those of you who haven’t seen them yet and don’t know what
to expect, ask those who have. Rock and Roll....Western Style? I
don’t quite know how to describe it. But I do know that their shows
burn red hot from start to finish.. You should check one out!
In case
you haven’t noticed, the band has been getting some very good press
too. Mark Guarino from The Daily
Herald says they’re
a “top pick of things to
do”. Martin Bartels from The Arlington Post wrote how they are “the best new band around. Period.” Eric Schelkopf
from The Kane County Chronicle was impresssed by how “these guys can rock!” The Kowboys even
played on the radio on Kevin Matthews’ show and had another feature
article written about them in Suburban
Night Life Magazine.
Well,
that’s about it for the moment. Make plans to come out to hear some
new music and have some fun...
